While I haven’t gotten 100% through the Wheat Belly book but what I did read confirmed my suspicions and gave me another reason to go totally Gluten-Free. As I read through the first few chapters, I could totally see myself in this book, the symptoms: bloating after eating high wheat meals, brain fog, joint and muscle aches.
Since moving toward a Gluten-Free/Wheat-Free Diet I’ve already noticed: less joint pain and stiffness and my skin is less red. Maybe this is a coincidence but a small white bump on my skin just under my eye that had been driving me crazy, and in my opinion looked enormous, just fell off after being on the diet for less than a week!
Dr. Davis provides some startling insight into the differences between the original wheat from ancient times to modern day. Anyone concerned about eating healthy and thinking they may have a problem with wheat should consider this book a must have for their library and arsenal!
As I work through the recipes in this book I’ll try to remember to take some pictures of the finished products and provide reviews.
When I started on my plan to go Wheat and Gluten-Free I made a few purchases of some Gluten-Free items, but they just sat on the pantry shelf I wasn’t ready to deal with them yet.
Every afternoon I love to have cheese and crackers, just a few along with a piece of fruit, since I went Wheat and Gluten-Free I was skipping the crackers. I finally opened up my pantry and grabbed these crackers and wow these Crunchmaster Multi-Grain Crackers are delicious! You would have no idea they have no wheat or gluten, as a matter of fact everyone loved them. Definitely taste sesame in there but it’s not overwhelming these are light and super crunchy, you won’t be disappointed with these crackers.
